Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

Dark Places : I had liked Gillian Flynn's 'Gone Girl' and so downloaded this audio book and started listening to it. I almost wanted to discontinue it twice...mainly because of it's dark and disturbing nature. However, it was the suspense that kept me going. I wonder what is in the head of this writer? It has so much gore and depressing that it pulls one's spirit down. I know this writer is talented and I like the way she tells her stories with past and present appearing like the sun and the moon alternatively. But I haven't listened or read such a disturbing story in my life so far. I have avoided such movies as well. Including the 'Saw' series. I liked 'Gone Girl' so much that I ventured into this one blindly. I don't regret listening to it, but then I would have avoided it if I had know what is it about. My rating is 3/5 mainly because of good writing style of the writer and not for the content of this book!
