Click Two Sentence Story He tried to click her picture, but noticed something was wrong. She was wearing her cutest smile at some distance, but looked as scary as hell on his mobile screen.
Two Strangers Two Sentence Story The earthquake brought them together, she had saved him from rubble. Riya had lost everyone close to her, but found someone close in a stranger, Prashanth.
Koothathil Oruthan (Tamil) 2017: This movie touched my heart and moved me with its wonderful message. The title translated into English means 'One among the crowd'.
It is about an average guy who is a disappointment to even his father, as he always feels his other two kids are better than him. I never gave a thought that students from middle bench in class rooms are average...I usually felt it is the guys seated in the last bench are the ones who tend to be average. Also they are easy targets for the teachers.
Ashok Selvan surely needs a good movie like this one to make an impact, which he does with this one as the movie works mainly because of his character. Priya Anand does a good job as well.Samuthrakani leaves a lasting impact in his guest role. Some characters didn't fit well in this movie like Bala Saravanan and Jennifer. Also Sanjay Bharathi seems to be a let down in this movie, as his character required more depth to stand against the hero.
The director TJ Gnanavel needs to patted on his back for neatly weaving a noble cause into a family entertainer. He has done it so well that it doesn't seem preachy, but touches and moves the audience. Especially, those with good hearts would feel like standing up and doing something to others who can't give back anything in return, after watching this movie. It is so inspiring! The cinematography by PK Varma is eye pleasing, crispy editing by Leo John Paul and good music by Nivas Prasanna. My rating is 3.5/5.
Taramani (Tamil) 2017: This isn't a movie for everyone. All those who are expecting it to be an entertainer like other movies would surely be disappointed. The major minus point is its pace which is too slow at many places that it gives one a feeling that this is an art movie presented in commercial format.
I even felt as if watching someone's real life on screen.. If you keep these things aside, then movie stands on wonderful and steering performance by Andrea Jeremiah, who plays an Anglo-Indian lady Diya, who doesn't seem to follow set rules by the society, but at core she is a class apart and lives her life as per her own terms, also a wonderful human being at heart, sadly no one sees it, except her ex-husband and the hero who only understands her true nature towards the end, by which time it becomes too late. He is one from the society who misunderstands her true nature.
The other wonderful performance is by the lead Vasanth Ravi, who plays Prabhunath, a care-free unemployed youngster, who is depressed due to love failure, meets Diya during heavy rain, Their relationship slowly develops into friendship, love and break-up. In fact, he goes on to meet other women who make him to realize his mistake indirectly and also change his perception of Diya.
At core it is a well developed woman oriented movie that speaks valid points at times, The only downers are the things I had mentioned earlier. This is one of the best performances of Andrea to-date, your heart goes out for her during her turmoil for sure!
Also
Vasanth Ravi is equally good. They both are well supported by other
characters in this movie. Even those who have played small roles have
left a significant impact on the movie.
My rating is 3.5/5. See it if you want to see something meaning full, if you are expecting to see an entertainer then you can give this a miss.
It (English) 2017: I have seen the original, but that was long time back. What works for this movie is a bunch of kids who come together to face the menacing clown.Bill SkarsgÄrd as Pennywise, the clown is creepy, disturbing and at the same time humorous as well.
The kids chosen for the movie have done a good job too. I had a feeling like watching two movies : Stand by me and A nightmare on elm street. It was like a mixture of both in a good way. The kids have great chemistry, are believable and their friendship makes this movie worthwhile to watch.
The best part of the movie is the opening scene where you get to see Pennywise for the first time, and that is the most menacing scene in the movie.
After that CGI takes over and it isn't scary or so menacing anymore. That is one thing that works against the movie. They could have focused more on Bill Skarsgard's natural performance which could have made this one even better than allowing CGI to take over him. The CGI is all over the place and almost ruins the scare factor to a major extent. I haven't read Stephen King's novel, so I can't comment how close it is to the book. Anyways, it is good one time watch. My rating is 3.5/5.
